As we age, our healthcare needs become increasingly important, yet access to medical services can often become a challenge, especially for seniors. Recognizing this, free eye check-up, spectacle distribution and medical camp especially for senior citizens to meet their health care needs and improve their quality of life was organized by Rajini Care Foundation at the Old Age Home at Sarojini Nagar on 3.2.24 in Lucknow.
Vision problems are common among seniors, ranging from refractive errors to serious conditions like cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. In this camp, health checkup of the elderly people was done by Dr. Ajay Rajput working in Raibareli CHC along with his team. Dr. Anant Vijay along with his team examined the eyes of the elderly in the spectacle distribution camp. Eminent social workers of the society also participated in the camp. Social workers Ekta Agrawal and Mohini Shukla gave time to all the elders of the old age home, listened to their joys and sorrows and encouraged them.
Vishwanath Mehra, who is suffering from serious health problems in the old age home, had undergone heart surgery some time ago. He has also undergone spinal operation in the past. The expenses for his further medicines will be covered by the organization for sometime.
In addition to eye exams, a variety of services were provided to suit the health needs of senior citizens. Which included general checkup, blood pressure checkup, diabetes checkup, and consultation with health practitioners specializing in geriatric care. The comprehensive health assessment by the camp not only helps senior citizens manage existing health conditions but also helps in early detection of potential problems, ultimately leading to better health outcomes.
The elderly were given valuable information on preventive health measures, medication management, nutrition and lifestyle modifications to support their overall health and well-being.
