Supporting Thalassemia Patients Through Blood Donation
Rajni Care Foundation successfully organized a blood donation camp at the IMA Blood Center, Bareilly, on February 22nd. Twenty-seven blood donors enthusiastically participated in the camp, stepping forward to help patients in urgent need of blood.
The camp was organized to ensure the availability of safe and sufficient blood for patients suffering from critical illnesses, accidents, surgeries, and life-threatening diseases like thalassemia.
🎗 Why Blood Donation is Important
Blood is a life-saving resource that cannot be manufactured. Each donation can help save up to three lives. Regular blood donation ensures that hospitals and blood banks maintain a steady supply for emergency and long-term treatment.
Voluntary blood donation:
- Saves lives in medical emergencies
- Helps patients undergoing major surgery
- Helps cancer patients during treatment
- Provides regular support to thalassemia patients
- Promotes community health and humanity
🧬 Understanding Thalassemia
Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder in which the body produces less hemoglobin than normal. Hemoglobin is essential for carrying oxygen throughout the body.
Patients with thalassemia major require regular blood transfusions every 2–4 weeks to survive. Without a continuous supply of blood, their lives can be at risk.
Therefore, voluntary blood donation plays a vital role in helping thalassemia patients and giving them hope for a healthy life.
💙 Community Involvement and Social Responsibility
The February 22nd camp demonstrated the compassion and social responsibility of the people of Bareilly. Rajni Care Foundation sincerely thanks all 27 donors who came forward to donate blood and inspire others.
Such efforts strengthen our mission to serve humanity and spread awareness about the importance of regular blood donation.
